Tanja H. Ellis: Artist of Multiple Mediums

homeTanja H. Ellis is a professional photographer and interior designer. As such, she is an artist who works with a variety of tools. From the balancing of light and movement on film to the integration of texture into a room, Ellis is certainly one of the best in both of these fields.

Photography: Capturing Life’s Most Important Moments on Film

When you think of important moments in your life, what do you think of? Most likely, weddings, birthday parties, and similar celebrations come to mind. But Tanja H. Ellis understands that some of the most treasured moments are those that happen on regular days. She strives to capture these experiences through her photography.

The work that Tanja H. Ellis does focuses on a variety of subjects. One of her favorite photographic subjects is children. Through her lens, she is able to capture the various expressions that today’s youth hold. From innocence to excitement, these expressions reveal the thoughts and feelings of kids—and a complexity of emotion that adults may not always realize is present.

Ellis’ interest in the perspective of a child extends beyond the images she captures. She has contributed greatly to the foundation of Eyes of a Child. A non-profit organization, Eyes of a Child aims to provide kids in marginalized areas with the opportunity to learn more about photography. In fact, the organization supplied children from around the world with disposable cameras. The project resulted in over 20,000 images, many of which were published in Through the Eyes of a Child.

Ellis has also taken part in projects that have captured natural wonders and historic feats. Gaia is a book that chronicles the experience of Guy Laliberté, the founder of Cirque du Soleil. He spent 11 days orbiting the Earth and took many pictures of its most beautiful surfaces. Ellis helped him document his journey and produce a beautiful publication to share his experiences.

Ellis also played an integral role in the production of South Pole. This is a book about the Terra Nova Expedition that lasted from 1910 to 1913. During this endeavor, explorers from England traveled to the South Pole. The project has the support of the Antarctic Heritage Trust Foundation and is an important initiative aimed at shedding light on this historic journey.

Bermuda is another book to which Ellis has contributed. Through this work, she captured the spirit of the island in commemoration of its 400th anniversary. To achieve the goals of this project, Ellis partnered with the island’s government and HSBC. Throughout the pages of the book, the culture and history of Bermuda are reflected.

While contributing to the publishing of such photographic books is exciting, Tanja H. Ellis has also spent a great deal of time building her personal portfolio. Snapshots of children make up a third of her personal work, as she is interested in capturing the moments that contribute to a child’s development. But her portfolio is also made up of portrait and adventure shots.

Portraits are one of the most classic forms of photography. In fact, the tradition of taking a portrait dates far back in history, as ancient royals had portraits painted of them that hung in their castle’s great rooms. Today, portraits serve in more ways than to document the leaders of a country.

Ellis’ portrait collection showcases a wide range of emotion. Through each picture, she tells a story. The ability to convey such meaning through just one image is the mark of a talented photographer.

Adventure, or voyage, photographs are also important to Ellis. She has traveled extensively, and takes pictures all over the globe. Through these pictures, she captures the movement, excitement, and relaxation that travel affords.

Culture Home by Tanja Ellis

As an artist, Ellis is not afraid to try new mediums and push the boundaries of her talent. Through her willingness to expand her knowledge, she has become quite an important professional in the interior design scene. Culture Home by Tanja Ellis is a business that she has created to cater to her home design clients.

Categorizing what, exactly, Ellis does is not simple. She provides interior design services, certainly, but she also offers extensive renovation capabilities. Today, she is a noted renovation professional who deals exclusively with high-end properties.

Tanja H. Ellis: Creating an Artistic Living Space

The move from photography to home renovation is actually quite natural. Ellis uses many of the same skills to achieve success in both of these areas. For instance, her understanding of light and movement contribute to beautiful photographs and gorgeous interior spaces.

One of the things that Ellis loves about renovating a property is the process. She starts with an outdated home and ends with an upscale, artistic living space that represents both her style and the taste of her client. This is important for artists, to balance their trademark aesthetic with the personality of the individual commissioning the work. Ellis is able to achieve this balance superbly, which results in the satisfaction of both the designer and the client when a project is complete.

Designing homes requires a great deal of knowledge, and Ellis has amassed the understanding she needs to apply her artistic ideas properly in the real estate realm. Through her efforts, she is able to recreate homes and, ultimately, design living areas that homeowners love. By combining artistic flair and functionality, Ellis creates comfortable yet beautiful living spaces.

The work of an artist is cherished by many individuals. From people who enjoy the books Ellis has published to those who adore the homes she has created for them, many individuals are inspired by the work that Ellis does.

Tanja H. Ellis knows that a wonderful artist is more than a person who puts images on whatever canvas they choose to use. Through her lens, Tanja H. Ellis paints landscapes, human stories, and historic tales. In this way, she shares the human experience with the world through her photography. Tanja H. Ellis is also able to exercise her artistic talents in home design, affording clients the opportunity to virtually live within one of her creations.
